Free park and ride car parks
Park and ride is often the cheapest way into an expensive centre: leave the car at the edge of the city and take the train, tram or bus in. These 135 sites are free to park under a rule the operator publishes, across 26 cities including Calgary, Manchester, Ottawa and Auckland. Some cap the stay at 12 or 24 hours, and a few require a valid transit ticket, so the condition on each entry is worth reading before you leave the car overnight.

Do I need a train or bus ticket to park free?
At some sites yes, and where the operator says so it is written on the entry. At others the car park is simply free to anyone.
Can I leave the car overnight?
Often not. Many park and ride sites publish a maximum stay of 12 or 24 hours and enforce it. Check the entry and the posted signs.
