Narcissus and Echo: The Boy Who Loved His Own Reflection
Narcissus is so beautiful he falls in love with his own reflection, while Echo is cursed to repeat other people’s words, so the whole story is basically self obsession, thirst and one sided longing made visible.

Before Narcissus even gets to the pool, Echo is already tragic. In Ovid’s version, Echo is a nymph who gets punished by Hera.
