About 30 miles / 45 minutes from Center City Philadelphia, marketed as a Philadelphia-area day trip. On peak days overflow parking moves to an off-site grass or paved lot with a shuttle to the Visitor Center; that overflow lot is covered by the same free rule. No registration or validation needed. Note this is a paid-admission garden ($20+ per adult); the free rule covers parking only, not entry.
