Night 6 Norse Mythology Story 4
Loki Children: Wolf, Serpent, Death Queen, And The Horse He Gave Birth To
Loki family tree is not a family tree. It is an apocalypse menu with a bonus horse birth. Wolf who eats Odin, serpent who kills Thor, daughter who rules the dead, and an eight legged horse Loki mothers after having sex as a mare.
The family announcement is immediately bad news

Ryota
Loki has three famous children with Angrboda: Fenrir the wolf, Jormungandr the world serpent, and Hel, ruler of the dead. That is not a nursery.
That is the final boss selection screen.

Nagi
The baby shower gift list is chains, ocean and a cemetery.

Ryota
The gods hear prophecy and panic. These kids are dangerous.
So the gods decide to manage the problem, which in mythology usually means making the future angrier.

Kaito
Preemptive damage with ceremonial confidence.

Ryota
Exactly. They are trying to control fate, but the control becomes part of the fate.
Fenrir gets chained and Tyr loses a hand

Ryota
Fenrir grows too strong. Normal chains snap.
The gods bring a magical binding called Gleipnir. Fenrir smells bullshit and says one god must put a hand in his mouth as a pledge.

Mao
Worst trust exercise ever.

Ryota
Tyr does it. The binding holds.
Fenrir bites off Tyr hand. So yes, the gods delay the wolf, but now the wolf has a very personal reason to hate them.

Kaito
Containment successful, revenge installed.

Ryota
Perfect. That is the whole story.
The gods did not delete the problem. They made sure it remembers their taste.
The serpent and Hel are relocated, not fixed

Ryota
Jormungandr gets thrown into the sea and grows until it circles the world. Hel gets the realm of the dead.
The gods basically put a danger label on two rooms and called it strategy.

Nagi
The snake is in the basement. Problem solved.

Ryota
Until it is not. Jormungandr becomes Thor final opponent.
Hel matters when Baldr dies. The gods store these children away, and the plot keeps the receipts.

Mao
That is so much worse than a normal monster.

Ryota
Right. These are not side weirdos. They are apocalypse components waiting for assembly.
And then Loki gives birth to Odin horse

Ryota
Separate story, but too good to skip: Loki turns into a mare, has sex with a stallion, and gives birth to Sleipnir, Odin eight legged horse.
The whole table goes quiet for one priceless second.

Mao
I need a diagram and also I do not want one.

Ryota
There is no classy way to say it. Loki mothers a horse. And not a random horse.
Odin horse. One of the coolest mounts in the mythic world comes from Loki taking the weirdest possible route through sex and shapeshifting. Do not call it a relationship.
The joke is that Loki body did the full dirty myth job.

Kaito
Father, mother, legal problem, transportation department.

Ryota
That is Loki. His joke does not stay a joke. It becomes infrastructure.
